Walnut Bend Subdivision • New Orleans LA
Developed in the late 60s and early 70s, Walnut Bend is a well established subdivision in Algiers. Made up of over 500 homes, the neighborhood is bounded by Holiday Drive, MacArthur Blvd., General Meyer and Kabel Drive.
It is appropriate that Holiday Drive is one of the main boundaries, since the streets within Walnut Bend have a “holiday” theme…take a drive down St. Nick Drive, enjoy Valentine Court or stroll down Easter Lane.
There is an active home owner’s association, but payment of dues and membership in the association are not required when purchasing a home in the neighborhood.
One of the biggest events of the year is the Night Out Against Crime block party, held in August of each year. The home owner’s association always does a good job of planning a variety of events designed to bring neighbors together, including a monthly association meeting that is open to the public.
