The only New Orleans neighborhood older than Algiers Point is the French Quarter. This lovely, walkable community features historic homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s with a few new homes sprinkled in. Prices range from the upper $100s for fixer-uppers to over $500,000. One of the newer communities in Algiers, Aurora Riverside offers the security of a gated community with a great central location and easy access to NAS JRB New Orleans and NSA New Orleans. Right next door to Aurora Tennis & Swim Club, there are resale homes priced from the $300s and vacant lots starting under $100,000. A well established neighborhood in Algiers, Bocage offers tree lined streets and the convenience of easy access to both West Bank military bases, Our Lady of Holy Cross College and local shopping and dining. Developed in 2002, Springwood Estates is a new addition to the Belle Chasse real estate market that still has vacant lots available for custom construction. Located on the Lower Coast of Algiers LA, English Turn is a private, gated golf community that also offers swim, tennis, walking trails and neighborhood play areas. The golf course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is a past stop on the PGA tour. Condos, villas and single family homes are available in English Turn, along with vacant lots to build your own custom residence. With a prime location just off of Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey LA, Village Green offers a convenient commute to just about anywhere. Private and gated, the Village Green Home Owner’s Association is dedicated to maintaining the quality of life residents have come to expect. One of the gems of Algiers LA, New Aurora is walking distance to many local schools, playgrounds, churches and swim clubs. Developed in the 1970s, resale single family homes are available from the mid $100s to the low $200s, depending on the updates that have been done to the property. Developed in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Plantation Estates is a limited access community in Marrero LA with private security patrols paid by the home owners association. Plantation Estate has an active civic association that sponsors neighborhood events throughout the year. Resale single family homes are available from the upper $200s to the mid $500s. Featuring the oldest country club on the West Bank, Timberlane Estates in Gretna LA offers resale homes and vacant lots from the mid $200s to over $1 million. Its convenient location gives residents easy access to all major traffic arteries on the West Bank and is close the major shopping corridor on Manhattan Blvd.? It is a perfect location for military owners with its location less than a mile from NSA New Orleans. Just off the Lafitte Larose Highway in Marrero LA, Bent Tree Estates subdivision offers new and resale single family homes starting in the mid $100s. Setting the standard for luxury living in Belle Chasse LA, Pleasant Ridge Estates is a private, gated community with access to the highly regarded Belle Chasse school system. Built in the mid 1990s, Magnolia Trace was one of the first gated communities in the Harvey LA area. The location allows for easy access to area shopping, dining and entertainment. Stretching into both Gretna and Harvey LA, Stonebridge is one of the largest communities on the West Bank. The premier townhouse development on the West Bank, The Residence at Park Avenue is a gated community in Harvey LA that has been built around a shared courtyard area, pool, spa, clubhouse and exercise room. A private, deed restricted neighborhood in Harvey LA, Barkley Estates has just over 400 home sites within the gated confines just off of Lapalco Blvd, between the Harvey Canal and Barataria Blvd. Resale homes are available from the low $300s and lots are available starting around $70,000. Developed as executive homes in the 1970s, Park Timbers has a central location in Algiers LA off of General de Gaulle. With a community pool, clubhouse and tennis courts, membership in the HOA is required for all residents. Built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Walnut Bend is a settled community in Algiers LA with resale homes priced from the mid $100s. Just a couple of miles from the gates of NSA New Orleans, the location is very convenient for military residents who don’t want a long commute. Also developed in the 1970s, Tall Timbers offers home owners in Algiers LA a bird sanctuary and elementary school within the subdivision boundaries. In addition to the general community, there are two small communities within the neighborhood with larger, custom built homes. Spanning both sides of Lapalco Blvd. in the unincorporated portion of Gretna LA, Bellemeade subdivision is divided into Bellemeade North and Bellemeade South.
