Jazzin’ Up Algiers

Are you a jazz fan looking for a new dining spot on the West Bank of New Orleans? Look no further than right here in Algiers and check out The Suite Jazz Cafe, a jazz and supper club offering dinner and Sunday brunches.
I had the chance to drop in and visit with the owner last week and check it out at the end of the brunch. With a glass of the best sweet tea I’ve ever had right in front of me, Dr. Camacia Ross (an Algiers resident, she’s also running for a position on the school board) allowed me to take a few photos to share with you.
The brunch menu changes each Sunday, but it is built around “home cooking”. The fried catfish I saw on a few plates looked delicious! There is a full bar, with happy hour on weekday evenings and live music on Friday and Saturday and during the Sunday brunch. Dr. Ross shared that they are hoping to open with lunch specials soon, which would be a welcome addition to the local dining scene.
Just another way to stay local….
The Suite Jazz Cafe is located at 3580 Holiday Drive in Algiers, right off of General de Gaulle in the new strip center next to Rouse’s. Gift certificates are available…I hope my clients like theirs!

9 Admiralty Court New Orleans LA 70131: Vacant Lot in Aurora Riverside for Sale

Have you been looking for just the right place to build your new home on the West Bank of New Orleans? Look no further! I just listed a wonderful lot in Aurora Riverside, one of the newest gated communities in Algiers.
Located right off of General Meyer Avenue and next door to the Aurora Tennis & Swim Club, Aurora Riverside has only a handful of available home sites remaining. Take a stroll along the levee and watch the ships as they make their way up and down the Mississippi River. Listen to the sounds of the ship horns when they announce their arrival. Take advantage of a quick commute to downtown, NAS JRB New Orleans and NSA New Orleans. Won’t this be one of the best locations in Algiers when the Federal City is up and running?
The neighborhood building restrictions mean that the streets are lined with homes reminiscent of old New Orleans architecture, complete with front porches to laze away the evening on. You can’t beat the bargain price of only $54,000 for a lot with over 14,000 square feet!
