Developed during the 1970’s, Park Timbers remains one of the most in demand neighborhoods in Algiers, LA. It’s in a great location, with entrances on General de Gaulle and Lennox Blvd. Backing up to Brechtel Park, the streets are easily identified – they all relate to National Parks! Originally billed as “executive homes”, this was the place to be for oil execs in New Orleans back in the 70s and 80s.
Today, it’s just a lovely and diverse neighborhood with a mix of original owners, new neighbors, families, and retirees.
Residents belong to the Garden Club and the Kids Club and participate in events like teen nights, swim parties, annual Night out Against Crime, Easter Egg hunts, and a 4th of July parade.
Some neighborhood exclusives:
- Community Pool
- Community Tennis Courts
- Community Center, available for parties and meetings
- Active Home Owners Association
- Low annual home owner fees of $125 per year
The Community
There are approximately 360 homes in the community, ranging from 2400 square feet to large, custom built homes over 3,500 square feet. It has a fantastic West Bank location in Algiers, off of General de Gaulle, just past Holiday Drive. Within one mile of the subdivision you’ll find a golf course, park and playground, regional library, grocery stores, restaurants, drug and convenience stores, banks, coffee shops and more.
It’s a quick commute to downtown New Orleans and an easy drive to NAS JRB New Orleans, making it a popular choice for relocating military personnel.
