Listing Agents and Photos
I’d really like to ask some sellers if their listing agent took the photos being used to market their home. But I can’t.
The National Association of REALTORS® has a Code of Ethics that prohibits me from pointing out the flaws in another agent’s marketing materials to a seller, which is probably a good thing since I’m a little cranky today.
After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? And on days like today when I’m feeling more than a little snarky, a proud homeowner probably doesn’t want to know that their largest investment is being marketed with photos that are ugly, out of focus, taken with a phone camera, include the side mirror of the agent’s car, make the house look it’s sliding off of the foundation or were swiped from a previous agent’s expired listing.
Home Selling Tip:
Check the photos your agent is using to market your home. If they don’t present your property in it’s best light, ask for new ones.
Today. Right now. As in immediately.
If your agent can’t take good photos, request that they hire a professional or at least their brother-in-law that knows enough to put the toilet seat down.
