West Bank Lagging Behind the Metro Area in Home Prices

West Bank tshirt

New Orleans home prices are cooling according to a recent article in the Times-Picayune, but for the most part, the city is still showing significant increases in home prices from pre-Katrina to today.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the West Bank market, with the exception of Belle Chasse and the 70114 zip code that includes Algiers Point.

Here’s a breakdown of the dropping prices from Algiers to Avondale, with the 70094 zip code suffering the biggest losses.

70131 (Algiers)

Pre-Katrina prices: $93 per square foot
2014: $82 per square foot

70053 (Gretna)

2014: $94 per square foot

70056 (Terrytown/Gretna)

Pre-Katrina: $83 per square foot
2014: $73 per square foot

70058 (Harvey)
