Trends in Harvey LA Home Sales
Number of single family homes sold
Sales continue to increase in Harvey, ending 2014 with 310 homes sold – the largest number we’ve seen over the last 5 years. However, with 206 homes for sale at the end of the year, there is still a significant amount of inventory for buyers to choose from. This means that sellers must make their homes stand out, whether it’s via condition or pricing.
Average single family sales price
While the number of sales has increased, average sale prices dipped in 2014, ending the year down by 3% from 2013. That’s not so bad when you consider how low prices were in 2012.
Now that the West Bank of Jefferson Parish is eligible for 100% financing, I would expect to see both sales and prices increase this year as more buyers realize that the West Bank is an affordable option.
Days on market – single family
The average number of days it’s taking for a Harvey home to sell also dropped significantly last year. As always, proper pricing is the key to getting a home sold quickly in any market.
