  • The supply of homes for sale in the City of Gretna dropped again from 6.1 months in July to 5.4 months as of 8/18/2008
  • Homes in the low to mid $200s are doing well, while the low to mid $100s are lagging behind, mostly due to the condition of those properties, although there are certainly some bargains to be had in the entry level market

  • 48 active homes for sale, priced from $60,000 to $310,000
  • 15 under contract listings, priced from $35,000 to $235,000

Based on July 2008 sales, there is a 8.8 month supply of homes for sale in Gretna, up from the 5.5 projected at the end of June.

The City of Gretna real estate market has made an overall improvement, with the supply of homes for sale dropping from 9.2 months in June 2008 to the current 6.1 months.

  • While a 6 month inventory indicates a balanced real estate market, there are pockets of oversupply in certain price ranges, so sellers in Gretna need to stay up to date with their competition for buyers in those price ranges

  • 50 active listings, priced from $37,000 to $310,000
  • 3 pending (offer accepted but still showing) listings, priced from $116,500 to $225,000
  • 1 open predication listing, priced at $119,900
  • 11 under contract listings, priced from $35,000 to $275,000
  • Based on June sales, there is a 5.5 month supply of homes for sale in Gretna, continuing last months showing of a balanced market in the area.  Remember, this number changes based on the number of homes on the market vs the number selling each month.
