Algiers Community Garden Needs Volunteers

Algiers Community Garden Needs Volunteers

Ready to put your green thumb to good use on the West Bank? There’s a community garden in Algiers that’s looking for some help.

One of our community gardens is looking for new growers and a new lead gardener. The Teche Street Community Garden at 813 Teche Street (at the corner of Slidell) has long been managed by Lanette Williams, who passed away this year.  This space provides people with the opportunity to grow their own healthy food, save on grocery costs, and become part of the growing community.

If anyone is interested in gardening and would love to become the new lead gardner for the Teche Street Community Garden, then please contact Tony Lee at by phone 504-319-7386 or email sunikat53@gmail.com or Susannah Burley at  504-620-2224, ext 400.

Please remember that becoming a member of a Parkway Partners community garden means tending your plot a few times a week, all year long.
