Current real estate market statistics for Westwego, Avondale and Bridge City as of 9/12/2008:
- 21 active listings, priced from $64,900 to $399,000
- Average list price of $146,009
- 2 pending sales (accepted, but continuing to show) priced at $85,000 and $150,000
- 3 under contract listings, priced from $89,900 to $185,000
- Based on August 2008 sales, there is a 7 month supply of homes for sale, just slightly above the 6 month supply in a balanced real estate market. This makes the 70094 zip code one of the most balanced markets on the West Bank, mostly due to the still affordable housing offered throughout the area
Westwego, Avondale and Bridge City LA - Number of Homes Sold August 2008
The year to date average number of homes sold per month is 3, compared to an average of 4.5 sales per month in 2007 and 7.8 per month in 2006. While fewer homes are being sold monthly in the area, the market continues to be mostly balanced since there is not a glut of inventory for sale.

The average sales price continues to jump around, mostly due to the occasional sale of a higher end property that skews the numbers. The year to date average sale price across zip code 70094 is $110,069, down about 6% from the 2007 average but still higher than the 2005 average, which was the last year that was for the most part) not impacted by the post-Katrina increase in prices.
